Province prepares for COVID-19 vaccine delivery; 10 new Island Health cases
NANAIMO — Another day of lower than average case counts for Island Health in the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry confirmed 10 new cases within the Island Health authority on Thursday, Dec. 3. It brings the total number of cases since the start of the year to 669.
This is the second time in three days Island Health saw 10 new COVID-19 cases, with a spike of 20 reported yesterday.
Across B.C., 9,103 cases are currently active in all sections of the province including 325 people hospitalized, 80 of whom are receiving intensive care. Within Island Health, 277 cases are active with 12 people in hospital including four in critical care.
