Guns, drugs and cash found in busts throughout Nanaimo and southern Vancouver Island
NANAIMO — Numerous targeted searches and street stops netted a significant amount of illicit goods.
The Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit’s gang team worked with Nanaimo RCMP and other detachments for a recent four day operation.
More than 50 people connected to street-level drug trades were searched. Knives, a rifle, a shotgun, a crossbow, a sword, over $15,000 in cash and “substantial quantities” of fentanyl, methamphetamine and heroin were found.
The unit worked with local detachments to specifically target local crime hot spots.
