Man attacked from behind in north Nanaimo, police want witnesses

NANAIMO — Police are looking for witnesses following an assault in north Nanaimo leaving a 40-year-old man with facial fractures and a concussion.
A Nanaimo RCMP news release stated the victim was walking along Metral Dr. and was hit from behind near the Superstore on Monday, Aug. 10 at around 11:30 a.m.
The victim does not remember the incident and could not identify the attacker.
The suspect may have left the scene, south on Metral Dr., according to police.
