UPDATE: Nanaimo RCMP locate missing elderly woman

UPDATE: Nanaimo RCMP have said they have located 78-year-old Margaret St. Denis safe and sound.

St. Denis was reported missing on on Wednesday afternoon after leaving Terminal Park Mall.

EARLIER:

NANAIMO — Local mounties are urgently seeking an elderly woman who has not been seen since Wednesday afternoon.

Margaret St. Denis was last seen at approximately 3 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18 by her caregivers at Terminal Park Mall.

She was reportedly agitated and last seen walking away from the mall parking lot. Her caregivers were unsuccessful tracking her down and quickly alerted police.

St. Denis is described as 5’8″ tall, heavy-set, caucasian woman with short grey hair. She was last wearing a green sweater and blue capri pants. There is no picture available of St. Denis.

Police noted St. Denis has significant medical health issues.

Her listed address is on Gabriola Island with police at that detachment also conducting a search. St. Denis is also known to be resourceful and police said in a release she may attempt to get to Victoria.
