Man stabbed in Cedar flown to hospital in Victoria with ‘significant’ wound

NANAIMO — A man in his early 30’s was flown to hospital in Victoria with what police call a significant injury after a stabbing just south of Nanaimo.

RCMP Cst. Gary O’Brien said police responded to a Clifford Rd. property off Cedar Rd. just after 9 a.m. Tuesday.

“We believe an altercation ensured either at the residence or nearby as to what provoked it we don’t know,” O’Brien said.

He said police are looking for a suspect, while describing the incident as isolated.

O’Brien said several adults were in the home at the time, while it doesn’t appear any children were present.
