Public to pick Parksville sand sculpting theme

PARKSVILLE — The public is tasked with choosing the theme for the 38^th annual Quality Foods Sand Sculpting Competition and Exhibition in Parksville this summer.

The Parksville Beach Festival Society opened an online survey with three theme options to choose from: Roaring 20’s, Topsy Turvey and Celebrate.

Online votes will be a accepted until February 17, 2020.

Nearly 700 online votes backed the Myths & Legends theme selected for the 2019 event.

More than 115,000 people viewed the sand sculptures in 2019, marking the fifth consecutive year the attendance mark eclipsed the 100,000 mark.
