Four Nanaimo bowlers compete at nationals

NANAIMO — Four youth bowlers represented the Harbour City at the YBC 5 pin and 10 pin national championships this week.

At the 5 pin event in Oshawa, Ontario, Selena Spracklin and Cheyenne Walker teamed up with two male bowlers from the Interior to compete in the Senior Mixed category. They finished sixth.

Spracklin and Walker also bowled to an 8th place finish in the Senior Girls Doubles as well.

The 10 pin nationals were played in Laval, Quebec, where both Brianna Robbins and Jordan Singer placed 4th.

Robbins was in the Bantam Girls division, while Singer played at the Junior Girls level.

In the 10 Pin Girls Combo Team event Robbins, Singer, and Courney Hamman from the Okanagan placed 4th in the 10 pin combo team event, which is teams of bantom, junior and senior players.

At home in Nanaimo, Robbins and Singer bowl out of Splitsville while Spracklin and Walker play at Brechin Lanes.
