Clippers fall 5-2 to Powell River
NANAIMO — The Clippers faced a team that is quickly becoming their nemesis on Saturday.
The Powell River Kings beat the Clippers 5-2 at Frank Crane Arena, and it was the third straight victory the Kings have recorded over Nanaimo this season.
A deflection goal by Mitchell Williams gave the Kings a 1-0 lead after the first period and they extended that to 2-0 on an early second period tally by Ryan Brushett.
The Clippers answered that goal with a breakaway effort by Gunnar Wegleitner who scored in his second game since being acquired in a trade earlier in the week.
