Body of missing Vancouver Island mother, filmmaker found

CAMPBELL RIVER — A tragic end to the search for a missing Vancouver Island mother and filmmaker.

The family of 38-year-old Twyla Roscovich posted an update on her Facebook page late Friday. “We are deeply saddened to inform everyone that our dear Twyla’s body has been found. No foul play is suspected.”

No other details were provided.

Port McNeill RCMP said Roscovich was reported missing on Sept. 12 and left her home in Sointula on Sept. 6.

Police said she sent a text message saying she would be camping near Nanaimo in her car, but her car was found in Campbell River with no sign of Roscovich.

The post said a GoFundMe page will be setup for her four-year-old daughter.

“Twyla is so loved. This coast she loved and fought for with all of her heart is a lonelier place for her passing. She left us too soon.”
