NANAIMO — The public has another chance to share their thoughts about Nanaimo having a supervised consumption site.

At City Council Monday night, a public hearing about re-zoning the current overdose prevention site on Wesley St. to make it a supervised consumption site is on the agenda.

Overdose prevention sites are run by Island Health and technically illegal according to Health Canada. By becoming a supervised consumption site, it will comply with federal regulations and also offer more services to help those at-risk.

Monday night will be the last chance to speak about the issue to council, who are expected to approve the rezoning.
