June real estate numbers up in Nanaimo

Unit sales and prices are up in every region of the Vancouver Island Real Estate Board, except Campbell River.

In the central Island, June unit sales went up 22 percent to 204 in Nanaimo and rose four percent to 102 in Parksville/Qualicum.

Sale prices shot up as well.

Parksville/Qualicum was the most expensive in the central and north Island at $488 thousand, and Nanaimo is next at $466 thousand.

Those figures are 20 percent higher than June of last year in Oceanside and up 17 percent for Nanaimo.
