Watch out on the roads for 2017 Tour de Rock mock ride

Aug 18, 2017 | 6:35 PM

NANAIMO — Dozens of bikes hit the road this weekend as 2017 Cops for Cancer Tour De Rock riders test their endurance in a mock ride.

Drivers from Nanaimo to Duncan should be wary on the highway as the mock tour gets underway early Saturday, Aug. 19. There will be 24 riders making the trip to Duncan and back, including their police escort and support crew.

Tanya Davis with the Canadian Cancer Society said this is a chance for riders to experience riding as a team and put to use their training over the last few months.

“They’ve put a lot of effort into it, they’ve been working full time. This is the day that’s all going to come together.”
