Nanaimo schools are closed Monday

NANAIMO — The City of Nanaimo is warning that their crews are dealing with compact snow.

Ploughs are out but it’s still going to be very slick.
 
Today’s weather forecast is calling for about four centimetres of snow.
 
Nanaimo transit is using their adverse weather routing for the morning.
 
All public schools in District 68 Nanaimo/Ladysmith are closed and so is Nanaimo’s VIU campus.
 
Private closures include Aspengrove, Nanaimo Christian, Discover Montessori, Kwam Qwum and Stz’uminus school and daycare.

Ecole Oceane is open, but they won’t have bus service.

You’re best bet is to call and confirm for other private school or daycare closures.
