Man exposes himself to little girl on popular Nanaimo walkway: police

NANAIMO — Police are searching for a suspect after a disturbing act in a popular, high-traffic area on the downtown waterfront.

Nanaimo RCMP say a man, believed to be between 50 and 60-years-old, exposed himself to 9-year-old girl around 7 o’clock in the evening on August 12.

According to police, a family was walking along the waterfront and went up the spiral staircase near Javawockey Coffee House.

At one point, while neither parent was nearby, the girl told her mother a man sitting on a bench at the top of the stairs pulled down his pants and exposed himself.

He then took off and the girl’s father couldn’t find him.

The man is white, around 5’8″ with a slight build and short, messy brown hair.

He was wearing an olive green button down long sleeve shirt and washed out dark pants.

Police are asking anyone who might know anything to call Crime Stoppers or 250-754-2345.
