The Nanaimo & District Hospital Foundation is excited to be hosting our third annual Light the Trees this Christmas. This year it is our official kick off to a $1.8 million Cardiac Campaign!
Every year 8,700 patients receive cardiac care at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital (NRGH) and Oceanside Health Centre (OHC) in Parksville. The Heart Health program faces major challenges in meeting the demand for cardiac services in Central and North Vancouver Island, particularly with our growing population.
With renovations and equipment costing $1.8 million, we will be able to deliver 95% of pre and post-surgery cardiac care that positively impacts patients in our communities and reduce wait times by as much as 50%.
Help us to raise $750,000 this Christmas through Light the Trees, so that expansion can begin for Phase 1 at NRGH and urgently needed medical equipment can be purchased including:
7 Cardiac Ultrasounds (5 at NRGH, 2 at OHC),
3 Treadmills (2 at NRGH, 1 at OHC),
1 upgraded Holter system (NRGH & OHC)
1 ECG at OHC.
Phase 2 renovation at OHC will begin in late 2019.
During December, donations will be represented by lighting trees outside the main entrance of NRGH. The closer we are to our goal, the more trees will be lit. The Christmas lights have been generously donated by the Wenner Group. Please donate today and thank you for supporting cardiac care in your community!
