Nanaimo SAR holding overnight training on Mt. Benson

NANAIMO — Mt. Benson Regional Park will be swarmed with Nanaimo Search and Rescue members, but no one is missing.

The organization is holding their overnight practical exam for new recruits on Saturday, April 6.

Nanaimo Search and Rescue president Carly Trobridge said over 30 members will comb the mountain and aircraft will circle overhead during the day.

Small fires might be visible doting the mountainside during night time.

Nanaimo Search and Rescue assured the public no one is missing and there’s no cause for concern.
