NANAIMO — Colin Birkas has been named as a new assistant coach for the Clippers.

His coaching resume goes back 14 years, including seven seasons at the Junior A Level.

The Junior A stops have included Kingston and Trenton in the OJHL, Brockville in the CCHL, and Calgary and Brooks (as a scout) in the AJHL.

Head coach Darren Naylor and Birkas are both on scouting trips this week as they look to add to a large group of returning players for the 2019-2020 campaign.

There's no word yet on whether current assistants Bob Foglietta or Ken McPhalen will continue in their roles with the Clippers.
