School district releases list of highest wage earners

NANAIMO — School District 68 has released its provincially mandated list of employees earning more than $75,000.

The Statement of Financial Information (SOFI) report showed 405 Nanaimo Ladysmith Public Schools teachers earn more than $75,000 annually as of June 30, 2018.

137 administrators hit the $75,000 threshold, according to the SOFI report.

Combined salaries and expenses for all teachers, management and trustees in 2018 was more than $108-million, up from $102-million in 2017 and $98-million in 2016.

Now retired Supt. and CEO John Blain had the highest salary this year at $230,500.
