New round of Canada Post job action hits Nanaimo area
NANAIMO — Rotating strike action by Canada Post employees has again impacted the mid-island area.
The Canadian Union of Postal Workers announced members in the Nanaimo area belonging to Local 786 hit the picket lines Thursday, Nov. 22 at 7 a.m.
It’s unclear how long the job action will last for Local 786 members, which involves 185 members from Lake Cowichan to Bowser.
More than 50,000 Canada Post employees are seeking a new contract with their employer.
