NANAIMO — The harbour city will get a piece of the action when the World Junior Hockey Championship (WJHC) descends on Vancouver and Victoria on Boxing Day.

Hockey Canada announced the Czech Republic will face off against Slovakia on Wednesday, Dec. 19 at 7 p.m. at Frank Crane Arena. It’s part of 12 pre-tournament games in nine communities around B.C.

Tickets for the game will be available on the Nanaimo Clippers website beginning on Nov. 24.

Ten teams are competing in the highly-anticipated tournament between Boxing Day and Jan. 5, which will see 12 games played at Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre in Victoria.
