NANAIMO — The Last Post and God Save the Queen rang out to a crowd of thousands on Remembrance Day in Nanaimo, but something more upbeat and unusual was also sung.

The massive crowd downtown at the Nanaimo Cenotaph sang Happy Birthday to 100-year-old Victor Osbourne, who was born the same day the armistice was signed to end World War One.

Osbourne stood and enjoyed the celebration as every one joined in to sing.
