Nanaimo RCMP bust in and search house connected to the drug trade

Nov 1, 2018 | 4:03 PM

NANAIMO — Three people were arrested after Nanaimo RCMP invaded a Metral Dr. home suspected of being linked to the drug trade and stolen property.

RCMP Cst. Gary O’Brien said their officers and Emergency Response Team members entered the home on Metral Dr. near Godfrey Rd. at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday.

“This property has been known to us for some time. It has caused a lot of issues to people in the north end and is directly related to the increase in theft from vehicles and other minor criminal offences in that area.”

O’Brien said the ERT was called in since the home’s occupants are known for violence and may have been armed. He said a search of the home will continue for most of Thursday evening.
