New traffic signal to be added to Parksville intersection

PARKSVILLE — A new signal light will be installed on Hwy. 19A in south Parksville, which will lead to delays over the next couple of months.
The City said in a news release its contractor Copcan Civil is scheduled to begin construction at the intersection of Hwy. 19A and Shelly Rd. on Monday, Oct. 29. The work will involve traffic signals, street light upgrades, pedestrian improvements and line painting.
The City expected the work to continue through the end of the year, while traffic will be controlled in all directions for both vehicles and pedestrians when necessary.
It’s expected addressing the Hwy. 19A and Shelly Rd. intersection will be complete in late December, however the timeline is weather dependent.
