Cash, cigarettes stolen at gunpoint from Ladysmith pub: RCMP

NANAIMO — A handgun was allegedly brandished during a quick robbery at a rural Ladysmith pub.

Police said a large man walked into the Timberland Pub & Liquor Store on Sept. 22 just after 10:30 p.m., pulled out a handgun and demanded cash from the till.

The money allegedly wasn’t enough.

Police said the suspect reached over the counter and grabbed as many cigarette packs as he could, eventually taking roughly 60 packs before running from the store.

The whole incident at the store lasted roughly one minute.

The suspect is white, standing six foot four and roughly 240 pounds. He wore dark colours and had a balaclava on.

Witnesses said he had a “soft” voice.

If anyone has information about the suspect or the crime, they’re urged to call Ladysmith RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
