NANAIMO — It will be more than two months before a man found guilty of dangerous driving causing death will learn how long he’ll remain in jail.

The sentencing hearing for Dustin Dennis Zinter, 41, was scheduled for Oct.1 during a session in BC Supreme Court in Nanaimo on Monday.

He was found guilty of dangerous driving causing death, leaving the scene of the accident and failing to provide a breath sample after fatally crashing into 51-year-old Heidi Plato on a Cedar road in November 2015.

The Crown has requested a prison sentence of six years.
