Westwood Lake re-opens for swimming after E.Coli closure

Aug 17, 2018 | 4:14 PM

Nanaimo’s Westwood Lake is once again open to the public for swimming.

The City closed the lake to swimming on Aug. 9 after Island Health testing found unacceptable levels of E.Coli in the water.

An Aug. 17 statement from the City said the E.Coli levels dropped below the accepted level and swimming is once again safe.

“Regular water testing will continue and any updates will be provided to the public as test results are received,” the statement said.
