LADYMSITH — Two are in critical condition at the hospital after a serious crash on the Trans-Canada Highway in the southend of Ladysmith.

Local police said a northbound semi-truck hit a small car which was crossing across the highway at Davis Rd. on Monday morning around 6:20 a.m.

The two car passengers were taken to hospital with what's believed to be critical injuries.

The driver of the semi-truck received minor injuries after rolling the truck during evasive maneuvers, which in turn closed both northbound lanes of the highway.

Highway traffic is being detoured along Davis Rd. so drivers should expect delays.
