DUISBURG, Germany — Canadians Laurence Vincent-Lapointe and Katie Vincent both won gold in solo canoeing events on Saturday a day after sharing C2 gold at the second World Cup of the season.

Vincent-Lapointe, from Trois-Rivieres, Que., set the fastest time in the women’s C1 200 metres, finishing first with a time of 45.885 seconds. Her teammate Vincent, from Mississauga, Ont., also made her trip to the top of the podium by winning the women’s C1 500 metres with a time of 2:06.482.

Alex Scott made it to the men’s K1 200-metre final on Sunday and placed sixth with a time 36.386 seconds, not far behind Russian Evgenii Lukanstov, who took gold in 35.424 seconds.
