Toronto Wolfpack score three straight in 28-26 comeback win over Leigh Centurions
BLACKPOOL, United Kingdom — Cory Paterson scored with four minutes remaining and Ryan Brierley converted as the Toronto Wolfpack scored three unanswered tries to complete the comeback in a 28-26 victory over the Leigh Centurions at Bloomfield Road on Saturday.
The try and conversion from Paterson and Brierley put the Wolfpack on top for the first time all game. The Centurions had a chance to tie it, but Ben Reynolds missed on a penalty kick at the buzzer.
Gareth O’Brien, Nick Rawsthorne, Josh McCrone and Olsi Krasniqi also had tries for the Wolfpack, while Brierley had four conversions.
Toronto stretched its win streak to 11 games and sits atop the second-tier Betfred Championship standings at 13-1-1.
