EDMONTON — Alberta’s highest court has upheld a 10-year sentence for an Edmonton teacher who had sex with a student.

The Court of Appeal dismissed the appeal of Paul Martial, who wanted a shorter sentence.

He pleaded guilty last year to sexual interference and child luring.

Court heard the offences started in 2012, when Martial was 47 and the girl was 13, and lasted over two years.
