NANAIMO — A behind-the-scenes look at life as a Nanaimo RCMP officer will be on display at an open house.

It happens Saturday, May 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Nanaimo RCMP detachment at 303 Prideaux St., where people will get a chance to interact with Mounties.

Several resources and vehicles will be on display, featuring the Tactical Armoured Vehicle used by the Vancouver Island Emergency Response Team.

The public can learn what officers do in various departments, including the marine, forensics and traffic sections.

The RCMP's police dog services will also be profiled at the open house.
