Masked man with machete robs Nanaimo liquor store

NANAIMO — RCMP are on the hunt for the man suspected of robbing a Nanaimo liquor store armed with a machete and wearing a Halloween mask.

Police said it happened Tuesday night just before 11 p.m at Harewood Arms Liquor Store on Eighth St., where the man demanded and then took off with cash.

They said nobody was hurt and the suspect ran off toward Howard Ave.

RCMP are looking into the possibility the incident is linked to a similar robbery involving the same disguise at the same liquor store last September.
