NANAIMO — RCMP hoping to reunite a troubled Indigenous man with his support network.

Russell Walkus, 26, hasn’t been seen since he left his home in south Nanaimo on Thursday, Oct. 26 in the afternoon.

Nanaimo RCMP said Walkus not being in touch with his support network is troubling because he’s recently dealt with personal issues and his family is concerned for his safety. He doesn’t have a cell phone or access to a car.

He’s Indigenous, stands 6′, 170 pounds with short back hair and brown eyes. Police say he was wearing a black jacket, blue jeans and a Chicaco Blackhawks hat when last seen.

If anyone has any information or has seen Walkus, they’re urged to call Nanaimo RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
