Fireworks to cap another successful Beach Fest in Parksville

PARKSVILLE — The sky over Parksville will light up Saturday as another Beach Fest comes to a close.

The annual fireworks show over the water starts at roughly 9:45 p.m. Saturday night.

Beach Fest Society president Cheryl Dill said over 110,000 people saw their Canada 150 inspired sculptures so far and they expect many more in this final weekend.

“We’re going to light those sculptures up at night time for the first time. So between 9 p.m. and 11 p.m. you can see them at night and it will be really beautiful.”

The sandcastles come down Sunday, Aug. 20.
