Nanaimo Mountie faces dangerous driving charge after police chase

Jul 7, 2017 | 12:36 PM

NANAIMO — A Nanaimo RCMP officer has been charged with dangerous driving causing bodily harm.

The charge against Cst. David Buchanan relates to an on-duty incident in February of last year in Duncan where a motorized scooter rider was chased by police.

The rider was allegedly injured when the chase was stopped, the BC Prosecution Service said in a release.

The case was investigated by the Independent Investigation Office, who submitted a report to Crown Counsel.
