EARLIER:

Mounties are asking for the public’s help locating an elderly man who left his Nanaimo home Friday and has not been seen since.

Police say Lance Parker’s family is extremely worried for his well-being as he has significant medical issues and requires daily medication. The 86-year-old lives on St. George St. in central Nanaimo.

Police say he left his home around 12:30 p.m. Friday and when he did not return by the late evening his family contacted Nanaimo RCMP and reported him missing.

Nanaimo Search and Rescue was called out last night and conducted a search throughout central Nanaimo. Parker does not have access to a vehicle and had no money with him.

Parker is described as white, 5’9″ and 175 lbs., with silver coloured hair and glasses. He was last seen wearing a dark coloured shirt with a blue and green coloured flannel hoodie along with blue jeans and slippers.

If anyone sees Parker call 911 immediately or the Nanaimo RCMP non-emergency line at 250-754-2345.
