NANAIMO — A Nanaimo man has been charged after allegedly bursting into a Chemainus home with a gun.

North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP Cst. Amron Russell said Christopher Chesnic, 30, forced his way into a family residence with a firearm early Tuesday evening.

"There was a resident inside the home at the time of the offence, an undisclosed amount of money was taken," Russell said. "The suspect left the residence in a vehicle which was subsequently picked up by the Nanaimo RCMP."

Chesnic faces several charges, including theft and numerous firearms offences.
