Canadiens acquire veteran Steve Ott from Detroit Red Wings
Montreal Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin has had a busy night ahead of the NHL’s trade deadline.
Bergevin announced late Tuesday that the team has acquired veteran forward Steve Ott from the Detroit Red Wings in return for a sixth-round draft pick in 2018.
The trade was the second of the evening for Bergevin, who dealt forward David Desharnais to the Edmonton Oilers for defenceman Brandon Davidson earlier in the night.
The 34-year-old Ott suited up for 42 games this season with the Red Wings and registered three goals and six points.
