Clippers win crucial battle with Bulldogs 4-3 in OT
PORT ALBERNI – A night after the heartbreak of falling 2-1 to Penticton the Clippers felt the euphoria of a 4-3 overtime win over the Bulldogs.
It was a back and forth game that saw the teams go to OT for the fourth time in five games and extended Nanaimo’s lead for the final Island playoff spot to three points.
Paul Savage gave Alberni an early lead but Matt Creamer and Lucas Finner on a power play put the Clippers up 2-1 after one.
Henry Marshall scored the only goal of the second period to send to set up a dramatic third period.
