NANAIMO —  In the BCHL, the Nanaimo Clippers got their first win of 2017 Friday night at home. The Clippers edged the Cowichan Valley Capitals 2-1.

The Clippers will be back on home ice Sunday afternoon when they host Prince George. Game time is 2:00 p.m.

In the VIJHL, the Oceanside Generals dropped their first game of the new year 5-0 to Campbell River. The Generals will look for a better outcome tonight when they host the Nanaimo Buccaneers.

Game time is 7:30 p.m. at Oceanside Place. 

In PACWEST action, both the VIU’s men’s and women’s basketball teams were on the court Friday night at the VIU Gymnasium.
