WOODSTOCK, Ont. — The case of a nurse accused of killing eight seniors at two long-term care homes in southwestern Ontario has been put over until Jan. 6.

Elizabeth Wettlaufer, 49, was remanded into custody Thursday during a brief appearance in court by video link.

Wettlaufer is charged with eight counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of elderly residents at nursing homes in Woodstock, Ont., and London, Ont.

It’s alleged Wettlaufer used drugs to kill her victims while she worked at the facilities between 2007 and 2014.
