PRINCE GEORGE – The longest trip the Clippers will make this season is now behind them.

But Friday’s game in Prince George wasn’t one to remember. Nanaimo lost 6-1 to extend their losing streak to four games.

The Clippers put together some strong shifts in the first period but found themselves down 1-0 after 20 minutes. Chong Lee had the only goal, converting on a cross ice pass from the right wing.

In the second the Spruce Kings’ Jamie Huber snuck a shot through the pads of Evan DeBrouwer in the early going, which prompted a goaltending change. Austin Roden came into the game but was beaten by Jarod Hovde at the 12-minute mark to make it 3-0. Connor Russell snapped a shot by Roden five minutes into the third period before Spencer Hewson scored Nanaimo’s only goal with a shorthanded wrist shot.
