NANAIMO — Three mid-island hockey teams were in action on Friday night.

In the BCHL, The Nanaimo Clippers fell 2-1 in overtime to Trail at Frank Crane Arena. The Clippers have now lost two games in a row and they will look to snap that streak tonight when they host the Powell River Kings. Game time is 6 p.m.

In the VIJHL, the Oceanside Generals pounded the Peninsula Panthers 11-2. Both Ethan Sundstrum and Brandon Roberge scored hat trick’s for the Generals while Landon Dziadyk and Matteo Giomo each had a pair of goals.

The Generals will look for another win tonight they host the Comox Valley Glacier Kings. Game time is 7:30 p.m. at Oceanside Place.

Meanwhile the Nanaimo Buccaneers were shut out 4-0 by the Campbell River Storm. The Buccaneers have now lost two in a row and are off until Wednesday when they travel to Westshore to take on the Wolves.
