Clippers take over in the third, beat Powell River 5-2
NANAIMO — The Nanaimo Clippers were waiting for a breakout game, and Sunday they had it against the Powell River Kings.
It was a 5-2 Clippers victory over the team they beat in the last two Island Division Finals.
In the first period Carter Turnbull put the Kings on the board on an early power play, but Shawn Guison picked up his first BCHL goal to tie it just 13 seconds later on a shot from the right point.
Matt Creamer gave the Clippers a 2-1 lead heading into the intermissions with his second goal in as many games.
