BC Government boosts monthly disability assistance, adds $52 monthly bus pass

Aug 31, 2016 | 12:39 PM

NANAIMO — The BC government is boosting the monthly disability assistance rate by $77 as of September 1st.

According to the province it’s $25 more in assistance rates and a $52 a month transportation allowance.

Users can get that allowance in the form of a cash payment or a BC Bus Pass.

While the government says this will provide flexibility, others like Nanaimo NDP MLA Leonard Krog want the return of the old bus pass system which cost $45 a year.
