Qualicum Beach man accused of attempted murder will stand trial

NANAIMO — A Qualicum Beach man charged with two counts of attempted murder will be going to trial.

33-year-old Steven Robert Clark appeared briefly in Provincial Court in Nanaimo on Tuesday through a video feed where a judge ordered him to stand trial.

Clark underwent a court-ordered psychiatric assessment after allegedly stabbing his brother-in-law and a friend at a Qualicum Beach home last April.

Clark’s next court appearance is scheduled for September 12 where his trial dates could be set.

He remains behind bars in Victoria.
