The local Community Action Team released their blueprint strategy for dealing with the overdose crisis.

Co-chair Ron Merk said the report took a year to build, and will be used to lobby governments for a recovery and detox facility.

“Recovery beds might take days or weeks to get. We would rather see that measured in hours and minutes,” said Merk.

Merk says they’re fortunate to have support from all levels of government, and hope to have a facility built by the end of next year.
