What do women of strength have in common. They are survivors, they are determined, they don’t let little things (or even big things) get in their way, they have a great support system and they love to share their successes to make other women stronger!

Meet Kelly Falardeau of www.mykellyf.com  and Brenda Hewklo of www.womenatpause.com who were my guests on Your Life, Unlimited radio this week.

You can listen to our March 22, 2013 CJOB radio interview here as  a podcast: http://www.cjob.com/Shows/Episodes.aspx?PID=2553

Meanwhile, here are a few tidbits about the ladies:

Kelly, who at 2 years old was severely burnt on 75% of her body including her face, now speaks to audiences far and wide talking about improving their self-esteem. She insists we must not let anyone take our beauty away and encouraged us to ‘love our little parts’ – that is each day when we look in the mirror, focus on what you love (find something, practice finding something),  and embrace the beautiful in you.

She says, and I wholeheartedly agree, that it ‘boils down to working with your head’ – the inside part of your head that is!

Brenda left her career in the beauty industry to follow her passion of helping women in mid-life transform themselves. She encouraged us to make a list of 100 things that we are ‘tolerating’ and start chipping away at the list 2-3 per week. Leaky taps and squeaky doors look out.

Coincidently both women were strong proponents of  bestselling book, The Passion Test (Janet & Chris Attwood) and the game changing question there is finishing this sentence:  My life is ideal when…

List as many things as you can (at least 10) and start noticing if the decisions you are making in your life on a day to day basis are leading your closer to those things or farther away.

Ahhh, personal growth – challenging buy oh so rewarding!

Best of the day,  Steph:)
