George was shocked at the event he went to. Everyone took turns introducing themselves and as he listened, he heard things like this…
“I’m Mary, I have 2 kids, one is a doctor and one is a lawyer.”
“I’m Joe, I have 2 daughters, one is a nurse and one is a teacher.”
George is his typical hilarious fashion stands up and says…
“I’m George, I have 2 sons, 1 is in jail and the other is not doing as well.”
HA! I LOVE IT!!
George understands what many do not, we are not defined by the letter behind how names (or lack thereof), how successful our kids are (or not!), who we are married to (or divorced from), or what family lineage we came from.
We are defined by how we show up in the world, how we behave and act, whether we do (or do not) lead with integrity.
Don’t get caught up in the hype of defining yourself by others, YOU get to define you. Period.
