NANAIMO — A motorcyclist is in critical condition and passengers of a van are traumatized after a crash near Country Club Centre.

NANAIMO — A Nanaimo man with a disturbing criminal past faces an attempted murder charge in relation to a stabbing in Harewood.

Central Island Traffic Services RCMP Sgt. Darrin Ramey said it happened at 7:25 Monday morning on the Nanoose Hill near Ross Rd.

NANAIMO — A 38-year-old Nanaimo man has died after he walked onto the Island Highway and was hit by a car.

RCMP Cst. Gary O'Brien said it happened at roughly 1 a.m. on Sunday, March 25 in the northbound lanes of the Island Highway near Oliver Rd.

Fire consumes car after early morning crash north of Lantzville

NANAIMO — Drivers stuck in morning traffic saw quite the sight this morning after a car caught on fire. 

A car driving south through the Nanoose Flats hit a car turning onto the highway just before 8:30 a.m. The hit was so significant one of the cars burst into flame, police said.

Plane filled with smoke makes emergency landing in Nanaimo

NANAIMO — A WestJet flight from Vancouver made an emergency landing as it flew into the Nanaimo Airport today after the cabin filled with smoke.

The 56 passenger plane was met by first responders on the tarmac and everyone got off safely with no injuries.
