Building plowed, drunk driving ticket issued in back-to-back Nanaimo crashes

NANAIMO — Emergency responders were hopping Thursday afternoon with both a possible drunk-driving crash and a car barreling into a church.

RCMP Cst. Gary O'Brien said the incidents happened just 20 minutes and a few blocks apart on Jan. 11.

Driver flees scene after car wedged under semi-truck in Nanaimo

NANAIMO — Police in Nanaimo faced curious circumstances after a driver took off from the scene of a jaw-dropping crash.

A car slammed into and became wedged underneath a tractor trailer as the truck was pulling out of Brooks Landing onto Departure Bay Rd. around 9 p.m. on Monday.
